The Middle East Domari of Turkey

The Middle East Domari of Turkey have a population of 600,000, and their main religion is Islam, Of the 600,000, less than 1% claim to be Christians, which means over 594,000 of them do not know Christ.

The Middle East Domari, also known as gypsies, are a nomadic people living throughout the Middle East. Their language is most closely related to languages found in India, and their habitation covers thousands of miles from North Africa through Central Asia.

Here are three important prayer points for the Middle East Domari:

  1. They converted to Islams over many centuries and they still practice many of their traditional practices, such as fortune telling. PRAY for deliverance from demonic influence and freedom through the Gospel.

  2. The Domari are despised and discriminated against throughout the Middle East. PRAY that they might embrace the hope of the Gospel and find their eternal and infinite value in Christ,

  3. The Domari have dozens of sub-groups, including one famous for dancing. PRAY that the unique giftings and art forms of this group would become an offering of praise that brings glory to God!

Every year, 5,000 Middle East Domari die without Christ, many of whom never hear the Gospel in their lifetime. God will use your prayers to advance opportunities to hear the Good News!
